Ninjutsu is a scientific self defense system that tranlates to "method of enduring".
Ninja Taijutsu (Ninjutsu) was first developed in 1100’s Japan by farmer families, a caste who had virtually no rights in that day’s
imperial society. These families suffered greatly at the hands of some unscrupulous local lords (Daimyo), who subjugated their goods, lands,
and sometimes even family members by use of their professional solders (samurai). Needing ways to protect themselves against overwhelming odds
and while not being permitted to carry professional weapons (only the ruling class could bear arms), the farmers developed a robust system of self
defense using common tools and powerful unarmed techniques.
Today, Ninja receive an incorrect reputation based on the highly inaccurate "hooded villain" Hollywood steriotype. This stems heavily from how the
ruling professional soldier (Samurai) class recorded history (those in power often paint theselves favorably) and at least partially from the ninja families' own safeguarding of techniques
and allowance of tall tales to go unopposed. The vast majority of Ninja were simply civilians who wanted to safeguard
their families during a time of millitary rule based on cruelty. Though in later generations, some Ninja did hire themselves out as covert operatives, so did many
samurai. This is not heavily recorded because of the historcal context mentioned above. The ninja's skills also made them natually better at it, and thus more famous for it.
Ninja Taijutsu training is built on a core understanding of natural laws
(gravity, physics, light and shadow, water and fire) and the human heart (self control, focus, will power). It was
specifically created to help evade conflict and, when not possible, to prevail thru science, strategy, and
focus. Unarmed methods taught in ninja taijutsu are divided into three categories.
Dakentaijutsu (striking/kicking forms)
Jutaijutsu (grappling forms)
Taihenjutsu (body movement skills)
Taijutsu ("strategic use of body movement") is cited by many scholars as being the foundation from which all martial arts styles developed. It is generally also assessed that the deterioration of many modern systems into
stylized sport (where partners "spar" but are only allowed to move back and forth in a straight line and are not permitted to trap, grapple, unbalance, etc.) stems
from the removal of Taijutsu, the nucleus means for overcoming larger, more powerful, and more aggressive assailants. Ninja Taijutsu retains the
true bugei (martial), kumite, randori training that was critical during the days when daily survival depended on real self defense capability.
Through practice of ninjutsu techniques, students become mentally and physically sturdy. Even students who study
recreationally see dramatic improvement of focus and memory plus substantial cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, and muscular coordination benefits.
Ninjutsu's emphasis on escaping from danger (rather than holly-hero method of sticking around and pulverizing someone to "teach him a lesson") translates
extremely well to modern personal safety training for kind people who want to stay safe while going about their daily routines.
Our Taijutsu program preserves the classical disciplines of the Togakure ryu, Koto ryu, Gyokko ryu, and Takagi Yoshin ryu. Focus in training is
to become aware of danger quickly and to remove ourselves from its grasp
(hense its name - "method of enduring"). Developing the alertness, self control, and strategic mindset to avoid physical conflict is key to our training.
If a physical encounter cannot be avoided despite our best efforts, we employ five self defense aspects (Discern, Defend, Disrupt, Deliver, and
Discern/escape) to protect ourselves and return safely to those who love us dearly. Students also learn a variety of classical weapons such as
sword, staff, and shuriken plus how to employ tools more commonly available today (umbrellas and writing pens, etc.) to deliver
themselves or loved ones from harm.
Spawning from cultural attraction to the ninja warrior, some unscrupulous martial arts schools claim to teach Ninjutsu while having absolutely no true
knowledge (easy tip - if it looks like Tae Kwon Do, it probably is). Authentic ninja taijutsu techniques are very distinct and only come from
the teachings of the Bujinkan (under Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi) and Stephen K. Hayes, the western world’s foremost expert on traditional Ninja Taijutsu and modern application. Our Ninja
Taijutsu skills are founded on the teaching programs of Mr. Hayes.
At Agape Power Martial Arts, we dedicate the science, strategy, and focus of Taijutsu training to the service of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Aiki Taijutsu, Aiki Jojutsu, and Aiki Kenjutsu are the unarmed, staff,
and sword curriculums from the Japanese Martial Art of Daito ryu Jujutsu (later called Aiki Jujutsu) and it's offspring system, Aikido.
These tools provide gentle solutions to common conflict and even aggressive encounters. The term "Aiki" means
to neutralize early by strategically blending with the force of aggression (pull when pushed - push when pulled). This term can
be interpreted as a direct opposite to "kiai", which means to overpower/overwhelm with intent and focus. Aiki taijutsu’s
strategic employment of space, angles, and circular movement distinguish it from linear systems such as Karate or
Tae Kwon Do, where students accept being frequently struck while delivering counter strikes.
Practice of Aiki Taijutsu systems such as Aikido or Daito Ryu benefit those seeking self defense skills plus anyone who wants a fun way to be healthy, gain confidence,
and enjoy camaraderie with others.
Key Attributes
Builds a mindset of addressing conflict peacefully in all areas of life.
Provides mind and body conditioning.
Allows students of all ages and body types to practice according to their own comfort levels.
Employs the physics of angles and momentum to great effect.
Focuses on partner practice, not enemy attack.
Counters merciless attacks with merciful defenses. This is the highest level of martial skill.
Through practice of the techniques involved, Aiki Taijutsu students become mentally and physically strong.
Cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, muscular coordination, and mind/body unity, are chief benefits for even students
who study recreationally. Aikido builds adept use skill that extinguishes aggression by never providing a target upon which to unleash.
We study the standard techniques of Aiki Taijutsu, Aiki Jojutsu, and Aiki Kenjutsu plus variations as a part of our Agape warrior toolset. Our focus in using these techniques is to peacefully take command of chaotic situations,
like the more noble among Samurai and today's peace keeping forces are called to do. This is also how our Master, Jesus Christ, calls on us to
behave daily. We are not to become involved in cruelty, violence, or ill will. Instead, we are to calmly, lovingly,
and skillfully restore peace.
In our program, students learn classical sword (wooden bokken), knife (wooden tanto) and 4 foot staff (jo) forms plus how to defend against those
weapons. They also learn how to employ commonly available tools of today such as walking sticks and the like for defensive purposes.
This is a unique aspect of our training that is not covered in many aikido schools.
We foster the development of strategy (including physics - angles, inertia, momentum, gravity) and mental fortitude for
conflict management and employment to the service of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Want to pull the rug from under
would be assailants and not give it back until you are safe?

Current statistics for violent crime in the United States according to the National Crime Prevention Council
1 out of every 4 women will be sexually assaulted during four years at college.
21 of every 1000 people will be a victim of a rape, murder, or assault. That translates to roughly 1 of every 50.
Youths aged 12-24 are the group mostly likely to be victims of violent crimes. 83 of every 1000 youth will be victimized. That translates to roughly 2 of every 25.
These are not scare tactics. They are facts! Do you think it can’t happen to you or your children? It can. Get involved with training to 1) learn to avert dangerous situations and avoid being a victim, and 2) still reach home safely if violence occurs.
Personal safety empowers men and women with fundamental skills to live more safely and happily. It consists of two aspects.
Awareness of surroundings and avoidance of high-risk places where practical.
A toolbox of quick/easily learned tactics to deter or disrupt attacks and escape.
Our personal safety program applies practical and effective self-defense techniques to the most common real life
defense situations that average men and women may face inside or outside the home. We study the down to earth
physical, emotional and psychological aspects of self-defense. Training is composed from the curriculum of such
experts as Robert Cabral, Loren Christiansen, and John Perkins.
Personal Safety is taught once per quarter during regular class times. It is provided as a free bonus to all students. In addition, weekend seminars are offered to the community.
Social, Spiritual, and Physical well being are essential to leading a happy and long life.
Our training is unique among marital arts programs, because we go beyond reciting a mantra. Instead, we use classes as
opportunities to share with one another ways to grow in our personal health, handle stress, and treat others
with brotherly kindness.
To be Ready For Anything™, students must learn apply the focus and strengths gained from their training to peaceful and successful living.
